Mental Health Counselor (Couples)
We are seeking a clinician to provide couples counseling (family therapy). Typical client profiles include all socioeconomic backgrounds and couple pairings and relationships.
The primary focus of your work would be on providing couples and group therapy/psycho-education groups.
Common issues are impaired relationships, communication difficulties, infidelity, anger and trust issues, Depression, Anxiety, COVID stress, work/family life challenges and transitions.
​Best candidates will possess skills and training working with couples utilizing any of the following approaches: Gottman Method, Narrative therapy, Imago Relationship therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples therapy, Positive Psychology.

Education

Masters level degree or higher required (M.Coun, MFT, MS Coun Educ, MCSW, etc.)
License, Certification, Registration

Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Social Worker, or Licensed Psychologist (Oregon),
-
OR
-
Professional Counselor Associate, Marriage & Family Therapist Associate with ability to obtain license within 3 yrs of hire.
Experience
Minimum one year of clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Establish a service or treatment plan for individuals served based on assessment of needs and develop practical suggestions for change
-
Conduct assessments in the areas of mental status, personality, behavioral response patterns, relationships, and family interactions
-
Conduct activity and participation-based interventions and approaches developed from training materials, experience, families’ successes, and peers
-
Provide a closure and aftercare plan for each family/individual
-
Build and maintain positive relationships with personnel from referring/collateral agencies, guiding families in their interaction with such agencies and other community organizations as needed; provide referrals to services and resources on behalf of families.

Thorough knowledge of psychosocial diagnostic categories and treatment approaches including evidence-based treatment modalities, suicide assessment, and therapeutic crisis intervention

Working knowledge of legal requirements for reporting or disclosure of suicidal or homicidal risks among minors, and suspected abuse of protected individuals

Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills

Rapidly establish rapport with a diverse population of clients presenting with a wide range of psychiatric, social and emotional difficulties

Process and communicate in a manner that is sensitive and appropriate to the cultural, linguistic and psychological needs of clients, families and other healthcare team members.

Function effectively as a member of a collaborative team despite potential disagreements or conflict.

Identify and respond to changes in policies, regulations, and procedures which can impact the client, or clinician.

Ability to use electronic medical record – familiarity with Theranest.

Working knowledge of relevant outcome measures.

Familiarity with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method, Narrative Therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Positive Psychology.

Proficient electronic mail communication skills (Microsoft Suite familiarity).

Proficient computer skills in windows applications.

• Licensed Clinicians: $80,000-99,000/yr + bonus opportunities
• Clinical Supervisors: base pay listed above plus differential
• Post-graduate, registered associates: $60,000 – 78,000/yr + bonus opportunities
• Bilingual: applicable base pay + differential
